#OnlyFans, a popular adult content platform that has been frequently mentioned on social media recently, is closed to access in Turkey.
How did the decision to close come about? Some recent posts by content producers on OnlyFans have sparked controversy on social media and a campaign of complaints against CIMER has begun. In the evening the site was completely closed for access.
According to the Freedom of Speech Association statement: access to OnlyFans was blocked by the decision of the Istanbul 1st Criminal Court of the World on June 7, 2023 under the number 2023/3975.
“We have a social media platform called OnlyFans that has recently become very famous in our country…Users on this platform sell their pornographic photos and…make over $10,000 a month from posts with pornographic content on this platform.”
“The main problem with these and similar platforms is that they encourage making money through pornography and seriously influence the younger audience, especially with their high income. Recently, users of this platform have started posting that they can easily and quickly make money by posting pornography on the Twitter platform and recommend it to everyone.”
“The unstable situation in the economy of our country has a negative impact on society, especially on young people, and many people resort to the wrong ways to make money easily. The mass promotion of the immoral platform OnlyFans encourages society to make easy money through immoral methods. At this stage, it is clear that the OnlyFans platform poses a serious threat to general morality and the Turkish family structure.”
